From I-580: Take the Vasco Road exit and head south. Where Vasco Road ends at Tesla, take a right. Next light is Mines Road; take the left. (There are alternative ways to get to this corner, which work fine.)

84 East from the Peninsula, San Jose or further south, across the Dumbarton, through Niles Canyon, with a brief excursion onto 680, following Vallecitos to Concannon (slightly hidden signage at this right turn), and a right where Concannon ends at South Livermore Ave (near where it turns and changes its name to Tesla). Then a right onto Mines Road at the light.

From the corner of Tesla and Mines (there’s a traffic light), watch the mile markers along the road – they start from zero at this corner.

One tricky part: Mines Road continues with a left turn around mile marker 3.5 (toward San Jose/Mt Hamilton). (If you continue straight, you’ll end up at Del Valle Regional Park – a lovely spot – but one hill away from us.)

Note: you will lose cell phone service somewhere soon after this left turn.

We’re on the right at 12465 Mines Road, mile marker 8.79 with the black mailbox that says “Rancho Milagro”. You can see the house to your right at the end of a relatively flat 1/3 mile graded, but otherwise unimproved road.

Reminder:  Wear long pants, close-toed shoes for exploring the 182 acres. Bring bathing suits to enjoy the swimming pool, if the weather is warm.
